Bio

Hey there! I’m Sarah! I specialize in working with adolescents and adults who are struggling with trauma, depression, anxiety, intergenerational trauma, and individuals struggling with chronic illnesses. 

 

I attended the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and graduated with a MA in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family. In my practice I provide a safe non-judgemental environment that allows exploration of uncomfortable topics. My passion is to help clients gain a better understanding of where they came from, who they are, and how their past experiences have shaped them. 

 

The styles of therapy that I use are humanistic therapy, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) , solution focused therapy, and narrative therapy. Humanistic therapy aims to create a non- judgmental and empathetic atmosphere which emphasizes unconditional positive regard and acceptance from the therapist while the client leads the direction of each session. Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based practice that allows clients to pinpoint their destructive thoughts that create negative emotions that fuel problematic behavior, and with assistance from the therapist the client learns how to restructure how they think. Solution focused therapy is exactly how it sounds, the therapist and client work together to create solutions for a specific problem by asking “miracle questions.” 

 

Having worked at a homeless shelter and non-profit organization that assists survivors of domestic violence has helped me grow as a clinician in more ways than one. De-stigmatizing mental health has been a key part of my identity and assisting individuals categorized as “vulnerable” has been the most fulfilling part of my career. 

I am available for sessions Monday through Thursday, 10 am - 5 pm, and available Fridays from 10 am - 12 pm.
